2000/02/02 Production of the official VLUG T-shirt is now underway. An announcement will be made when they are ready for purchase. Click here for more info. 1999/10/21 We have been choosen! Sort of anyway -:) The Canuck Site of the Day for today is us! 1999/06/16 The available list of distributions for sale from VLUG will be increasing very soon... stay tuned to ourGet Linux page for more details. 1999/02/09 Excellent turnout for the February meeting. Matthew Skala made an excellent presentation on Perl. Our next meeting is March 9th. 1999/02/07 Our forth InstallFest was a huge hit. There was so much demand for this one that we've decided to hold them more frequently. We're currently looking at holding them every two months instead of every four. 1999/01/19 Good turnout for our January meeting, with Deid Reimer on Samba. Approximately 40 people came out. 1999/01/15 The TUX dolls have arrived. WOW are they cute!!! There are still a few medium and small sizes available for those who haven'ta ordered one yet. 1999/01/11 -> 1999/01/13 Several VLUG members went to Vancouver to assist with the Linux booth at Comdex/Canada West '99. The booth was organized by the Vancouver Linux Users Group (VanLUG) and staffed by members from VanLUG, VLUG, Fraser Valley Linux Users Group (FVLUG) and the Canadian Linux Users Exchange (CLUE). 1998/12/13 We have started the ordering for TUX dolls. Check out the online ordering system to get your very own little penguin. 1998/11/14 Our Local Victoria Linux Consultant's list is now online. Please fill-out the online form if you'd like to be listed here. 1998/11/10 Our monthly meeting (the first at our new day-of-the-month: second tuesday) had a good turnout for Deid's presentation on PHP and Matthew's on "man". 1998/10/27 Our monthly meeting had a good turn out. No presentation was scheduled, so we covered some business and then had general discussion.1998/10/25 Our booth at the 1998 Victoria Computer Show was a huge success! 750 brochures were handed out, and we sold just over 100 CDs! Those who've signed up but haven't officially joined (by mailing their $20 check) appear as "Friends of VLUG".1998/09/30 We got the paperwork back from the Registrar: we're an offically registered BC Society! Our formal name: Victoria Linux Users Group: The Association of Linux Users in Victoria.1998/09/26 The third quarterly VLUG InstallFest, part of the first National Canadian Linux InstallFest was a great success, with twenty one machines receiving attention, and upwards of 60 people coming out.1998/09/23 Our bylaws and several other required documents have been filed with the Registrar. We should receive Registered Society status in about two weeks.1998/09/22 Our September general meeting, VLUG's first AGM, took place on the 22nd. Please see the minutes for details.
