  • Humerous references were made to the "We have the way out" MS campaign.
  • Mozilla 1.0 release imminent.
  • KDE 2.3 released.
  • Gnome updates available.
  • New Open Office release.
  • Codeweaver release Crossover product.

General Monthly Meeting:
MySQL and PostgreSQL comparison..

PostgreSQL supports:

  • Sub select
  • Foreign keys
  • Stored procedures
  • Extendable type system
  • All executions are Transaction safe.

MySQL is generally considered faster.

  • RPM installation, MUSTset new password as first step. There after you enter via a password challenge.
  • You can break in as root on the box. also --skip privileges.
  • We also saw a WebCalendar demo.
