Title: A Review of Five Photo Organization Software Packages
Summary: There are several software packages which are designed to help to organize and keep track of your digital photos, many of which can be used with LINUX. Five of the most widely used of these will be reviewed, highlighting some of the unique features of each. The packages examined are:
- DigiKam Version 0.9.2-final
- KPhotoAlbum Version 3.5.8
- F-Spot Version 0.4.0
- Picasa2 Version 2.2.2820 for Linux
- JAlbum Version 7.4
All of these packages work with either KDE or Gnome.
Although the major impetus for looking at these packages was to examine their capabilities for organizing photo collections, other key features will be illustrated.
