Title: Low-cost, Reliable text e-mail: A Journey

Agenda

  1. Meet & Greet
  2. New Business
  3. Presentation: REMCU (Radio-E-Mail Connections Unlimited) is a communications development charitable organization whose goal is the development/deployment of low-cost reliable e-mail in developing countries. What started as a dream of Nzola Swasisa to harness HF radio as e-mail medium (see www.remcu.org for background), has evolved with technology to a dream to use the now-widespread availability of Cell-phone & Satellite internet coverage to accomplish the same goal much more reliably and less costly. Linux port-restriction is the key to cost control.
