Created for hand out during the 1997 VIEX show, our
Linux in Victoria
brochure has been a great success. In less than 5 months we have
distributed over 3000 brochures to the public at shows and at
retail locations.
The content for the brochure was created via collaboration on our
e-mail list, and was first mocked up using these HTML pages. Once
the content was agreed upon, Ewan Edwards provided the desktop
publishing skills to create a very professional looking product.
We encourage other LUGs to consider
producing and distributing
brochures as a means of public awareness. Please feel free to
contact us for assistance. And
if you know of a good location for our brochures, please be sure
to suggest the location.
There are several views of the brochure, linked to below. This is
to assist with content flow, as there are various views of the content
depending on how it is unfolded. Server Side Includes are used so
only one copy of the content exists, and is brought into which ever
view is appropriate.
The layout is rough and is primarily for sizing and content flow design.
Layout issues are dealt with during the DTP phase.
