Here is the end result of an e-mail exchange with a new company run by a
fellow named Trevor Peirce about DID's in Victoria. I thought you all
might be interested.
Cheers

Hi Scott,
We certainly are not going to complain about free "word of mouth", or
email, advertising. :) However we're still very early in getting
everything up and running as we have many contracts to sign before being
ready to offer service, so this may be a little premature. We're at
least 30 days away from launching right now.

As it stands now, we're looking at 8c/minute for long distance. We're
still looking for a LD termination provider. For now we're just
planning on offering VoIP service to our Victoria clients for local
calls. Of course once we find someone to partner with, this will change.

That is later in our plans, but as mentioned to get started we're just
going to be offering Victoria service.

This is something we will almost certainly be offering, although we
still have some problems to iron out first. There will likely be a
setup fee to update the database with location information, but the fine
print is still in progress. Our PRI provider has claimed to have no
experience setting up 911 service with multiple locations for one
termination point, so it may take some time to get them to cooperate.

We'd just be providing DIDs, so call transfer/forwarding, call waiting,
3 way calling, etc. would all be implemented at your end.

We're *thinking* of offering rates as follows in CAD:
$10/month per line (so if you want up to 3 simultaneous calls, that's
$30/month)
Plus $0.005/minute for local usage
Or $0.08/minute for long distance in Canada/US
Calls within our network will be free
$25 activation fee which includes porting an existing number or
assigning a new number, setting up outgoing caller id, setting up your
phone book listing.
$25 activation fee for 911 configuration, otherwise 911 calls will hear
a message stating that 911 services are not available with the option to
press 1 to connect to the local police dept's non-emergency number.
These rates are very preliminary, and may vary based on your expected
usage and whatever contracts we are able to secure with our providers.
Before provisioning service we'll have more definite figures, so there
won't be any surprises :)

Thanks for your interest! That's what we've been looking for before
moving ahead.
