Hi I'm new to this list , I haven't seen any action ,coming from here, so...
so i'm going to try anyways, good time to check it out, 'cause I'm up the creek
if you know what I mean. a while ago I tried to dual boot my computer with xp and
mandrake 9.0 , thats where it started , got linux to boot up , couldn't access xp
so since then its been a 'crash' course in linux (too much truth in that pun) I
mostly had 9.0 up and running so I had access to the net, etc but somewhere in there
I was surfing and it froze up and well... thats where the problems started ,since
then I was haveing trouble with all kinds of stuff to the point that I decided to reboot
the whole system. I thought doing so with an upgrade mandrake 9.1 would be best anyways , after wiping the disk clean and reformating ,as problems seemed to continue, there
still seems to be problems trying to reboot , lost directories, lost files , etc.
I thought if you reformated the disk and started from scratch you would have a clean
slate shouldn't the boot disc have all the files and directories it needs ? anyways
this may not be enough info to go on, but if anyone is out there with any sympathy,
please reply, my system doesn't even want to boot up, on a borrowed computer...thanks Lorne
