Remember that when you set up the router, that the router is now your
DHCP server. Your workstation will have to get it's IP address from the
router before you can connect to it.
1. Configure your workstation to get it's IP address via DHCP if it
doesn't already.
2. Plug the network cable from your workstation into one of the ports on
the router. (Not the WAN port)
3. Release and renew your IP address on the workstation. You can do
this by stopping and starting the network service, or even by rebooting
if you really want to.
4. At this point, your workstation should grab an IP address from the
router. The IP address will probably begin with 192.168. You can check
it by typing /sbin/ifconfig on the command line.
5. Read the documentation that came with your router to find out it's
default IP address and use your web browser to browse to that IP
address. http://192.168.2.1 or something similar. You may need to put
http:// before the IP address.
The default password is usually blank, so you can log in without a
password, but remember to set a password on it right away.
Once you are logged in, the setup is the same for any OS as it's just a
web based interface.
