[newbie] Mandrake & Linksys router?

First, read Andrew's post. Specifics such as model number are always useful.

Also, you can use 'netstat -nr' and 'ifconfig' to check your settings.

Also, check that:
-your cable from the (cable) modem is plugged into the Uplink port of 
the router
- the cable from the router to the pc is in one of the other ports
   and is NOT a crossover cable
