[newbie] Mandrake & Linksys router?

Hi,

I run Mandrake 9.0 and I'm having some trouble setting up a Linksys
router.

I've searched the net for several days now, but all the answers seem
geared towards connecting a windows box to the router, configuring it,
then adding a linux machine later.

The problem is, Linux is the only OS I use at home, so I can't hook a
windows box up, configure the internal router settings, then add the
Linux box when everything is set.

The only lights that appear on the router are the WLAN Link light and
the Power light.  I am unable to ping anything - not even the router.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
