Hi all
Just a reminder and an invite to the 12th VLUG Install Fest this
Sun., Jan. 19th. at the University of Victoria, in the David
Strong Building - ROOM C113. Starting at 10:00am until around 4:00pm.
Open to all at no charge. Come to have Linux installed on your
machine, and also to help do the installations. We'll have some
Red Hat 7.3 on hand, but please bring Distros of interest to you.
Also an update and invite to the VLUG Newbie SIG Road Trip 2003,
this Sat. Feb. 8th. Idea is to leave Victoria around 10 AM on
the Sat. and arrive Duncan for a 12 noon start to the event.
Event will involve Installs and general Linux/Open Source yak.
An O'Reilly Linux book will be raffled.
Location is: Duncan Christian School.
Thanks to VLUG member Fern Holmes for helping make this possible.
(Duncan is about 1 hour, 45 minutes drive from Victoria.
Info re car pooling will arise as date gets closer)
The school is located at 495 Beech Ave. (after entering Duncan
turn right on Trunk Rd, then left on Beech Ave. It goes right
into the school grounds. The High School is to the right.
All list subscribers from Victoria and north of the Malahat
ie: Duncan and Nanaimo, are invited to attend. We'll look at some
aspects of using Linux, answer questions, and maybe do an install
or two. (Bring your box for installs).
I believe Pizza will be involved.
Hope to see you at these events.
Cheers
