	LCDs have a fixed singular resolution and all other "modes" are "faked".
	For my 19" wide screen LCD and ubuntu I had to specify the correct mode 
in the xconfig file. Once I had done that, I could then select the 
correct "native" resolution of my LCD (1440x900).
	I suspect you will have to do the same.
