This software has been available for a long time. I did try it on my old 
laptop and another Windows XP computer. I also tried it with Vista which 
did not work.  I soon abandoned it, even for Windows which I don't use 
very often.  There are other things that work a lot better for Windows 
unless they have improved it a lot in the past couple of years.

My modem must be really old, as it doesn't have the switch you are 
talking about.  When I bought it, Shaw told me that it was guaranteed 
for as long as I am using Shaw (or maybe longer).

I have not received the E-mail you mentioned.
