Currently at VLUG we have two definite presentations lined up for our
March and April meetings, but beyond April we are open for suggestions. We
would like our members and friends to seriously consider helping us by
either:

1) consider preparing a presentation on any Open Source subject matter you
feel comfortable with, or that you could get comfortable with by May 13th!

2) email me with details of acquaintances who use Open Source/Linux/Unix
in their work and who you think might be happy to present to us

3) come up with other ideas on how we can keep interest going at our
monthly meetings.

One idea I have is a sort of "problem fest" - where we dedicate say 15-30
minutes to a specific problem that a member is having and the group tries
to come up with solutions in that time frame. We could do 3-4 problems at
one evening. Such a meeting would highly moderated to ensure it does not
degenerate into a "free for all". Another idea is generated at the latest
BOD meeting is to have a specific newbie night that we advertise and we
prepare a "basics of Linux" evening that would be advertised in local
papers and on radio stations, etc. In the past we also did mini,
unprepared presentations of about 15-30 minutes by attendees about their
favourite command line tools. We could do that again as well. I'm sure
there are many other ideas out there. We can discuss on this list or email
me direct.

thanks....Larry Gagnon ( mailto:lggagnon at uniserve.com )
