[Discuss] PCI Wireless Adapter

I have been struggling all afternoon to get an ASUS WL 138G V2 wireless
PCI adapter card to work in my old computer that I want to move to
another room (no wired connect available). Googling turned up all sorts
of Linux problems with this card (it works on XP). I even tried the
driver from Linuxant and they want $20 after 30 days but that doesn't
work so they won't get their money!

Before I take this WL 138G back to the shop and exchange it for
something else, does anyone have any solutions? If not does anyone know
a PCI card that does work on Linux? As yet I have not found a reference
to one that works!

To save time I have tried all the usual stuff with NetworkManager but
not ndiswrapper. Incidentally Linuxant uses some sort of wrapper around
the Windows driver.
