[Discuss] ASUS EEE

Question:

I just bought a ASUS EEE and find that it is an attractive little
machine. 

However, I have not managed to 
      * get the sound on 
      * connect in wireless. 

I would appreciate some help from one of the gurus on this list (in the
Victoria area) to resolve these questions and perhaps a few others: such
as 
      * replacing open office in US version by Open Office in French
        with a few dictionaries,  
      * appropriateness of adding a USB stick with Mandriva 7.0 on the
        side
      * how we can have grub or lilo installed. to change system. 
      * appropriateness of adding a 4 GB har disk in the machine
      * adding win XP on the 80 GB external HD on which I will put my
        (duly pruned) /home and /common folders where I have (perhaps)
        useful software package and my data files for use when I travel
