Thank you for responding to my poll in spite of the fact some of my
questions were redundant and ambiguous. My next poll may be better
designed???????? However, the results have basically answered the
questions I needed answering in order to prepare my talk.

The following are the results of my poll. To date there have been 9
responses:

a) I have a working knowledge of at least one programming language ( not
including bash etc ).
100% Yes.

b) I have some knowledge of C programming and have written a program.
80% Yes with qualifications about how recently they had done anything
with C.

c) I have some knowledge of C++, Java or similar Object Orientated
Language and have written a program.
56% Yes, again with qualifications and mostly with languages other than C++.

d) I have some knowledge of another programming language (not mentioned
above, please specify).
100%Yes. A similar question to a) somewhat redundant, sorry.

e) I would like to know how to start learning to write simple programs
for Linux.
90% Yes

f) I don't normally attend meetings but would do so if the presentation
topics were more suitable for experienced Linux users.
44% Yes.

g) I am still learning about Linux and won't understand presentations if
they become too advanced and this may dissuade me from attending.
22% Yes. Most attendees seem prepared to sit through stuff they don't
understand in order to pick up tips on the topics they do understand.

h) I will attend or continue to attend all meetings even if they have a
mixture of "newbie" and more advanced topics.
67% Yes. The ones voting "No" where mostly the ones that state they
don't attend for other reasons.

Not a huge response but hopefully Larry's great list of future
presentations will attract more interest when the word gets around in
the community.
