Thanks for the good info. Yeah, I heard the concerns about limited
number of writes, but also found them to be effectively not a concern,
unless using USB stick or CF then it would have to be actively
managed.

I thought the promise of SSD was the much improved access times
compared to HD -- idea for a system where you've already maxed the RAM
and want to put the swap on SSD for example.

It seems that this isn't really commodity at 8GB and the price point
isn't really there yet for my playing -- good news.
