[Discuss] Gmail and IMAP

I have my own IMAP server in my office. IMAP is the way to go for
sharing mail amongst a group of users and for access of one's own
mailbox from work/home/mobile. The problem I have with it is that on a
dynamic ip it can sometimes go down and the uplink speed isn't good
enough when there are file attachments.

Google is fine for personal stuff but for business, where I have an
obligation to keep things confidential (ie not in Google's One Big
Database) I would like to find a provider that will let me host a dozen
email accounts including a couple of different domains, a gig or two of
storage, not in an area subject to US law (Canada prefered). It would
also be nice if it offered smtp service for outgoing mail as my ISP
(Shaw) seems to "store" out bound mail for an hour, a half day or even a
couple of days every once in a while.

I expect to have to pay for the service but I had a look at smtp.com and
their service looks like it would cost an arm and a leg.

Any recomendations?
