[Discuss] flv video playback?

Anyone have any luck either playing back flv (flash video) or
converting it to something else? All the players I have tried seem not
to be able to jump to different times in the videos. The converting to
mpg using ffmpeg seems to work (though reports a shorter video
length), but same result trying to jump around.
