[Discuss] 1000 Mbps.

Good evening all.

I am replacing my home LAN server/router/firewall and I have a question
regarding best placement of my 1000 Mbps NIC's.

I am currently subscribing to Shaw's standard "high-speed" service and I'm
wondering if a 1000 Mbps NIC (Intel pro 1000 GT) internet-side would be
helpful for overall speed or some other advantage over a standard 10/100 NIC?

I'm installing a 1000 Mbps switch, have a 1000 Mbps NIC on my desktop machine
and using CAT 5e cable as well.

Thanks for any opinions.
Chris W.
