Could be.

However looking at their website I don't see it mentioning HDMI, only DVI.

As well I thought only newer HD TV's supported decryption.  In that
case I would assume Shaw would mention that you need a newer HD TV on
their website.  They don't, so I assume its not encrypted.

But thats a lot of assumptions.
