Just a quick update; it does.

I'm not sure where it is in the menus, but if you bring up
Konsole [the default terminal app in SimplyMEPIS] and type
`qtp[tab]' you'll find that it auto-completes nicely, and that
qtparted is installed.  :-)

You probably found something already, just thought I should
mention it.
