Well, this is the point where we agree to disagree as I've found Linux
to be much more prone to the "when you fsck it up you *REALLY* fsck it
up" problem than Windows.

As opposed to Linux?
You can always come up with examples where things go terribly wrong with
*any* major computer system; Windows, Linux, and OSX are no exception.

particularly care for any of the Linux distros I've tried over the
years. I *did* (and do) like XP, so I will stay with it.
I think this is one of the things Linux evangelists tend to miss -- most
people don't have a pressing need to move away from the system they're
currently using (and in fact, more often than not they are resistant to
change in general). Unless they have a strong compelling reason to
switch they won't.

This isn't a Windows-only problem, try running a old version of Red Hat
or Mandrake and see how much support you get.
