[Discuss] Open Street Map mapping event?

Have you considered using what the ham radio community calls APRS data?  If
there is a way to take the data and convert it into the data that is usable
by the OSM folks, or by some-one willing to do the mapping/tracing out of
all the points, there would be quite a bit of existing data.  Don't know if
it's fine grained enough though....

How many people here have GPSes and are willing to take part in an
Open Street Map[1] mapping event? Victoria is totally unmapped
currently, a sad sad thing. This would be a great event to mix up the
Linux and GPS communities in Victoria. Thoughts?
