I would like to try JAlbum for organizing photos (and to compare it with others such as digiKam, KPhotoAlbum and maybe even Picasa2).  I downloaded JAlbuminstall.bin and tried to install it, but it complains that it cannot find a Java Virtual Machine.
"No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH
environment variable.  You must install a VM prior to
running this program."

I had already installed sun java and a lot of its components and Adept says that it is installed and "which java" says I have it in /usr/bin/java. I tried reinstalling it and got install errors.  Any idea as to the cause of the problem, and how to fix it?

I am running the AMD64 version of Kubuntu
