[Discuss] Wireless on Laptop

Hi Murray,

I have just run Fedora 8 Live KDE CD on my laptop again to make sure I
am giving you the correct information, as my memory isn't what it used
to be. First the wireless icon I mentioned in the bottom right hand of
the panel is initially a little "mouse" with a cross through it and a
popup says there is no network connection. If you right click it gives
a popup with check boxes enabled for ethernet or wireless and these will
probably be already enabled. Now left double click on the icon and
popup will display a list of wireless signals within range. Click the
one you want and another popup will connect or pop up another dialog if
an encription is required. Type in your encription code and close and
yet another pop up will ask you for a password for this connection.
Type in any password you want, it does not have to be your root or
encription code, it has nothing to do with these, it is just for storage
in the "keyring" or kwallet. Hope this now all works!

I have also checked that plugging in a Pen drive can be access when
running a Live CD and it can. So you can save your data there.
