This probably means, there is problem in the video card or GPU, or some 
component in the motherboard.  (I assume you used some other working 
monitor with the same cabin and it did not work)

If you are on linux, then you can boot to text mode. Does booting into 
text mode work properly ? If so it has to be problem with the display 
drivers.
