k3bsetup doesn't exist in 7.04.  It would make changes to dev which
udev would overwrite, making it worse than useless.  Thats why in your
original error message it specifically said you shouldn't run k3bsetup
if you use udev.

I don't know why your user wasn't already in the cdrom group.  Either
there is a bug, or you created the user manually.
