[Discuss] HFS+ access?

So far I've had some luck, but it's all been hit-and-miss.

1: Found a CPMCIA FireWire adapter that Just Works [at least,
it does under Xubuntu 6.10. YMMV. Dynex IEEE 1394 cardbus
adapter, model DX-FC202 if anyone's curious].

2: Mounted a few HFS partitions on the FireWire HD, opened files,
   read, wrote, conquered, etc.

3: But no luck with the HFS+ partitions. The hpmount tool [used
instead of mount for this partition type] doesn't seem to
recognize it. For this reason, I haven't had a chance to try
hpumount. [Note: in spite of the misleading command names,
these are *not* meant for OS/2 high performance filesystems,
aka hpfs. In this case, the `hp' stands for HFS Plus.]

Regular old mount / umount handled the basic HFS partitions
   without any trouble.

4: Strangely enough, parted can't make sense of the partition
table, but the system seems to parse it just fine.

Any hints, suggestions... guesses?

Thanks,

Patrick.
