[Discuss] hibernating.

A Fine Saturday afternoon to you all.

I'm experimenting with "hibernate" and resume, etc with my desktop box.  I'm 
wondering how successful anyone has been with the process and what software 
is being used.

At this point, I'm looking to build a script that'll shut down unessential 
services and unload modules, etc.   I'm running an AMD  X2 Dual Core.

Currently I'm using KPowersave to save usage but now I'm looking to also 
*turn_off* a processor as well.

Does anyone know of the command or have the wisdom, to do, or not to do this?
