[Discuss] Some questions about ISPs.

Hi there,

I'm moving to the Victoria, hopefully within 20min of downtown where
my GF lives, and wanted to know what there is in the way of ISPs that
service the Victoria/Greater Victoria Area? Google pulls up a few but
I'm looking for the local IT community's suggestions.

I need a high speed connection but I also would like (if possible) an
ISP who's okay with me running a lower volume webserver (<1000
hits/month, mostly my own according to my logs) off of my connection.
If need be I can demonstrate to the techs that my server isn't going
to cause various forms of mass havoc once connected.

Also, given this is my first post to the group it's probably only fair
to introduce myself. I'm a Financial Sales Rep (read Junior Branch
Officer) with TD Canada Trust in Vancouver (soon to be Victoria). I
started with as a casual teller partway through University and it's
kinda turned into a career. I'm a CompSci major and computers have
been a big part of my life since I got my first 386 in the early '90s.

I have two PC's right now, an AMD 64 X2 3800+ which is my workstation
and a dual MP2800+ server. The Athlon 64 runs XP_x64 (with a VMware
image of Gentoo) and the server runs Gentoo. And no I don't have a
three page listing of random compiler flags. :-)
