As others have said, you won't be able to use SMTP if you use Telus,
or Shaw (cable) unless you buy the "business" package.
After discussions with Telus, and then then CRTC, Telus is now forced
into wholesale DSL competition. You might want to call
www.teksavvy.com. as they're now offering DSL out here, and they don't
block any network services, you can run SMTP, WWW etc. They also offer
a static IP for a more reasonable price than the 2 monopolies out
here. Personally, I'm a fan of supporting "the little guy" as well.
