Terra Soft Solutions is a Linux software development company famous for
its world-renowned Yellow Dog Linux operating system for Power
architecture (Apple, IBM, Mercury, Sony) computers. Located just west of
Old Town Loveland, Terra Soft is housed in a newly remodeled historic
building with a beautiful, open, fast-paced, high-tech work
environment. 

        Position Description
        Application Development Engineer who works under our Lead YDL
        Engineer for the on-going development of Yellow Dog Linux,
        Y-HPC, and Y-Bio. 
        
        Personal Attributes
              * Maintain a high level of enthusiasm and communication.
              * Move into projects with a self-motivation and autonomy
                (self-starter).
              * High degree of organization and copious documentation.
              * Comfortable with fast-paced, high pressure environment.
        
        Linux Skills 
              * Deep understanding of Linux, including experience with
                the Linux kernel.
              * Experience and comfort with hardware.
              * Shell scripting.
              * Application compilation / compile failure debugging
                (gcc/make/autoconf).
              * Install, netboot (tftp/dhcpd), NFS, HTTP.
              * Excellent debugging skills.
              * Advanced experience building RPMS (preferred, not
                required).
              * Linux on Power experience (preferred, not required).
        
        Programming Skills
              * Background in Procedural (C) and Object Oriented
                Programming (Python/Java/C++).
              * Modifying/Debugging large code bases.
              * Socket/Network I/O (preferred, not required).
              * GTK experience (preferred, not required).
        
        Description/Options 
              * Full time, on campus at Terra Soft's Loveland, Colorado
                or Victoria, B.C. location.
              * Salary contingent upon experience.
              * Group health and retirement plan.
              * 20 min - 2 hrs from world-class skiing, climbing,
                hiking, boating, & camping.
