Has anyone here successfully setup a distributive Rendering
environment with DrQueue, Blender and Yafray?
I'm going to probably be setting one up for work, just wondering if
anyone here has taken a stab at it yet.
The official blender site mentions that DrQueue supports blender, and
DrQueue's site mentions that as well.
Been doing some network rendering with 3dsmax8, have to say, not a
huge fan of the software anymore.
Maybe they're waiting for r9 instead, but r8 is very buggy.
Also, to network render in max, you require max installed on all
slave/worker machines, (a bit of a licensing issue $$$$)
Aftering using blender on and off for the last 5-6 years, I have to
say I'm starting to enjoy its workflow much better than 3dsmax(though
I miss max's material editor).
For those that haven't used blender, or have but quit using it in confusion.
The best analogy is:
'Blender's interface is to other 3d software' like 'Vi is to Notepad'
It's very keyboard friendly.
Once you master those keyboard shortcuts, you're pretty much good to go.
For instance, I can mesh model with my wacom intous tablet using only
the 4 hot keys on the wacom tablet about 85-90% of the time....try
doing that in Max...haha..
