Hi all,
I am a lay man in networking so I don't know whether the problem is critical
or not. At my office there is a broadband connection supporting DHCP. Now
there are 3 XP machines sharing the connection. There is only one Linux
machine running XAMMP server. Now all the machine are getting network
connection as DHCP clients. Whenevr an user from XP machine needs to connect
the XAMMP server; it needs the IP address of the Linux machine. What to do
that they can reach the machine by a name. Pls note there is no DNS server or
DHCP at the Linux machine and this is not a problem with the XP machine as
they are in a workgroup.
The host name of the Linux machine is *localhost* and domain name is
*home.net*
Could any one kindly suggest any solution ?
Thanks
J. Bakshi
